Hussein was detained by the military intelligence branch because he was assisting mobile hospitals treating the wounded in Damascus suburb. The officer who detained him subjected him to psychological torture mainly by physically torturing the detained in front of him. He asked him blatantly to continue to work for the mobile hospital but to finish off the wounded. Then he threatened to take his license to practice as anesthesia tech unless he joined a boot camp and start working for the army. His parent paid for him to be released. He fled to Jordan and now is working as a waiter. Hussein told us about a 41 day old baby who was detained as a ransom for his father to surrender himself and of course he did.
